We are People

We are people.
We're all scarred,
We salvage through ruins,
By bitterness charred.

We all need acceptance,
We need one to care.
We must share our burdens,
Alone we can't bear.

We pray for eachother,
Our sisters, our friends.
We need the assurance,
Life's not going to end.

Just cuz we've got a problem.
You know, every kid,
Nearly everyone,
Has something they've hid.

Will you be there,
When they need to say,
"Somethings gone wrong."
Can you point them their way?

Do you know your answers,
Have you talked to God?
These lives slipping by us,
When passive we nod.

Everlasting are humans,
Our souls yet were lost,
But Jesus broke through,
When He gave us the cross.

So break through to the kid
You've not talked to before.
Be there for the friend
You don't know anymore.

Cuz we still believe lies -
Even under the steeple.
Every heart holds a promise,
Because we are people.
