Burdened by Joy Wieters Burdened by the evening, Burdened by the noon. Burdened by the things I say, Burdened by the soon. Burdened by the chacos, The closeness of the room. Burdened by the feelings, That never meet their doom. Burdened by the sorrows, Though love comes falling down. I hurt for friends and loved ones, When burdens weigh them down. Burdened by the children, That tug upon my heart. Burdened for the grown-ups, Who don't know where to start. Burdened by the people, Who all around me hurt. Whether in heart and body, I feel within their hurt. With all my treasured burdens, I cannot move around. I can't do anymore good, Till I stop and lay them down. But who can hold them all, Without them slipping in his hand? Jesus, take my burdens. Now without I stand. I take a breath of fresh air, This heaving off my chest. And then I thank my Jesus, For giving me His best. I know that when burdens, Threaten to compress my mind, I surrender to Jesus, For I know He is kind. |
