The Flower! by Patricia Joan Polhans Solomon in all his radiant glory Was not arrayed like the morning glory. Though they're here today but gone tomorrow They're clothed with blossoms for the summer. Each petal God formed around each stem And perfumed with fragrance at His whim. Each filled with hues of delicate color As they blossom forth becoming lovers. Pollinating each with life to come, Wee babes of love, my little buds. Their arms reached out as nurturing leaves Embracing each other with hues of green. Each tossing to and fro in the wind Perfuming the air with aromatic blends. Each inhaling sunlight into their lungs, The breath of life given from the sun. The scent of love flows through the air Spreading its fragrance everywhere! "If I cared for each of these wee buds How much more will I care for thee, my love?" |
