My God is not a Racist by Patricia Joan Polhans Twill be a happy day in heaven when he gathers his children home From every tribe and nation, And from every tongue. His children are made up of various hues of color The black, the white, the red and the yellow brothers. He chose his precious children showing his versatility. And all shall live together in perfect harmony. My Father is not a racist, nor is he prejudice. He will love us all who're upon his chosen list. His only requirement is that he's washed our sins away The day that we received him in and invited him to stay. He never even noticed the color of their skin For he is their creator, he made every one of them. How could anything so beautiful Be considered a mistake! For we are all people of color and of a different race. He surely must have noticed that we weren't all the same For he gave us each a color And our very own name. Negro, white man and Chinese, to name just a few of these. He created all of them As well as the Vietnamese. He made some with slanted eyes, some with larger lips, others are darkskinned, while some we might have missed. Our differences are what makes each one of us unique When God took some color And made each one so complete. Whether we are black or white We were given his credentials living together peacefully. All are noted as essential. What a joy to experience a variety of little children For there will be a day when we are all together up in heaven. |
