The Sword

Cut off and away
these bands to
a flesh, mere rich
and tainted
shank of glory.

But feed me from
Spirit, from
Rock -oh
stream to Living Water.

My need, robust -
profound-
in guise of
an elemental plane's workings;
but Thou knowest
my form goes so
much farther, and so much deeper than here and now.

Cut me down, cut me
off from these
unctions that bequeath
none but death.
Your Word is sword
that brings me rest.
