Father's Day by Patricia Joan Polhans 'Twill be a Father's Day in heaven When he calls his little children home And God selects a chosen Family And calls ev'ry one of them his own. We will greet all of our sisters And each and every new brother As we share the love that we have Been given for one another. From the youngest to the oldest All of his children will come to be Devoted to the Heavenly Father And belong to his huge family. He'll introduce each one of us That he called as his very own Even though some were adopted, None in heaven will ever know. Some of them were neglected and poor And some came to be very lame, Abandoned and all forsaken But he took them all just the same. We all 'came his favorite children As we knelt before his holy throne United with our precious Father, Nevermore would we have to roam. He will take us to our large home, The mansion that he has prepared As he escorts each one of us Up those golden, transparent stairs. He'll prepare for us a table Before our own evil enemies And we'll begin to sup with him Through all of God's eternity. We will bask in his presence, Feast on his divine Living Word And there'll be no sound of division Coming from children of the Lord! |
