Putting on the Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord
and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God
and stand against the devourer.

Stand against the devil and
his wicked and unruly schemes.
For our struggle isn't against
this worlds' rulers and authorities,

But it's against spiritual forces
of evil in the heavenly realms,
And against the powers of darkness,
of this world and of hell.

Therefore, you must put on
the full armor of God so that when
The day of evil comes to you,
you'll be able to withstand.

When you've done everything there is
to stand your sacred ground
Stand firm, stand strong as
your strength in him is found.

Fasten the belt of truth right
around your whole entire waist
But the breastplate of righteousness,
I will put into place.

Shod your feet with readiness,
the gospel of my peace.
And in addition to all of this,
take up your shield of faith.

Then you'll extinguish the flaming arrows
that Satan begins to fling.
As you put on the helmet of salvation
that comes from your Holy King.

Grab the sword of the spirit,
clutch it tight within your hand
For it is the Holy Word of God
that will help you to withstand.

Then pray in the spirit with
all kinds of requests and intercessions.
You must stay awake and be alert
on all of the other occasions.

Keep on praying for all the saints
that are upon the whole earth.
Oh, come, now, my children,
pray for the Lord's holy church!
