COULD IT BE ME
by edward potts

The trumpet is ready to play that last tune,
The world is in crisis, it can't be too soon,
The angels stand ready, God's table is spread,
The rapture is coming, our God is not dead.

The graves will split open. the dead will arise,
To go to meet Jesus somewhere in the skies,
Then we who are living will join them up there,
Oh, what a reunion there'll be in the air.

Our hearts will be happy, our loved ones we'll see,
Who've crossed over Jordan, they're waiting for thee,
My heart will be saddened, as I look down below,
For millions, yes millions, who don't get to go.

They've never met Jesus, nor knelt at the cross,
They never were told of the price it had cost,
Someone failed to warn them from sin they must flee,
Oh, Lord, tell me softly, could that someone be me?
