Awakening Season
by Albert Watson

With Snowdrops and Crocus gone,
And time itself is rushing on,
Cold snow we find has left the scene
Trees once bare now shooting green.

Frogs in ponds are laying spawn,
As once again the world's re-born.
Song birds sing to attract a mate,
Pigeons do the chests inflate.

Ti's Spring my friend look blossomed tree.
An Easter card from you to me,
With skipping Lambs and furry Chicks,
A poem that has my eyes transfixed.

A bonnet that is made brand new,
Is bound to turn a head or two.
Whilst on the radio is played,
Old crooner Bing's, Easter Parade.

Children's faces what a state
Because of all the eggs they ate,
Mother shouts oi mind those doors,
Watch those mucky chocolate paws.

Ah blessed season glorious day,
Sky's of blue no longer grey,
So at this time will you give room.
For Him outside an empty tomb.
