Those Wise Men.
by Albert Watson

Friends this story is not a fable,
But did the wise men visit stable
And was it three that travelled there,
With gold and frankincense and myrrh?
I would agree they travelled far,
And have no doubt about the star.
They found the Child husband and spouse,
Not in a stable, but in a house.

Remember Herod that evil man,
He devised a wicked plan.
'Go find the Child' was his plea,
'On your return, come, do tell me.'

His wicked plot and evil plan,
To kill the Child, the Son of man.
Being warned of this in dream,
A change of route thwarted scheme.

Now in fear of throne and life,
For miles around created strife.
His command, for every boy
From birth to two, just had to die.

So if on your card, you see Magi
In a stable with cows nearby.
I tell you friend, it is not true,
They went to house, the Child perhaps two.
