Christmas, the day God walked among us by Stan Arney © 2008 Who would have thought a birth two thousand years ago Would matter to the world more than anyone could know Christmas, the day of incarnation, when God walked among us Do you think at that time anyone realized His purpose Passed down from generation to generation It is a celebration in each and every nation A day that wise men worshiped a babe in a manger Giving Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh Do you think they knew who He truly was the Son of The Son of our Father, God, of heaven above Jesus was His name, our Savior, we all should know In the Bible it was written, so all of us may know A day to be thankful for all blessings we have received To pray for those who have passed, that they truly believed This is a day to rejoice, the tidings of great joy This may include presents for each girl and boy Give a gift to a stranger, anonymously Do a good deed for someone, a blessing opportunity Doing something for another, just warms your heart Sharing your joy, is simply doing your part His birth, our chance for eternal life in heaven Despite our indignity and all of our sin Share the good news of Jesus and why He was born And how accepting His free gift, you too can be reborn Christmas, the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus For all He was sent, for each and every one of us So may your days be merry and oh so bright Remember this day, as one Holy night. |
