Embraced by Jesus by Sarah Lewry My Savior came to me years ago, and enfolded me in His love. He brought me to His wounded side, his words as gentle as a dove. I endured some persecution for several years in my life. My heart grew weak with sorrow, and my soul cried out in strife. Memories would flood my mind, of guns, and attempted sexual abuse. So many times I asked myself what was the point? What’s the use? For years, I was troubled by my unforgiving heart. Walking down a dangerous path, but still my Lord did not depart. He followed me while bitterness clogged my once grateful view. He was there in my darkness, when my world was askew. I finally came in deep despair and great sorrow for my sins. He came to me once more, and His arms surrounded me again. He healed me of my past wounds, and He held me as I cried. I know now that it was for this that my Savior died. He died so that I would be spared from an eternity of pain. He longed to hold me close, and take away my shame. My Savior’s arms are always open if you need a warm embrace. If you call on Him like I did, you will one day see His face. |
