Moment By Moment

There's a quiet lull before the dawn
Consciousness is a second away
Moment by moment the day begins
From my lips these words I pray.

First I thank God for the now
And the precious gift of yesterday
Moment by moment I imagine
Trusting the Lord come what may.

A feeling of comfort in my soul
Learning not to breach tomorrow
Moment by moment I live for Him
Every breath from God I borrow.

Today comes with its challenges
Unknown, but free of fear
Moment by moment I walk with Him
My God who is always near.

My mind marvels in sweet delight
A sigh escapes into the air
Moment by moment He fills me
Takes from me a whispered prayer.

Each morning this awareness comes
In the twilight of the hour
Moment by moment possessed by Him
Reveling in His protective power.

Embracing an all encompassing peace
When the morning brings His light
Moment by moment He touches me
Then empowers this heart to write.

Moment by moment thoughts pour in
That only my God could allow
Moment by moment bountiful words
No more do I question how?
