My Lot in Life by Kathleen Higham What is my lot in life? Dancing around the edge of sin Wallowing in a sorrow, while God waits patiently to come in. Even a sin forgiven hurts When at the altar, I pray Release me from my lot in life And the sin that won't go away. Every day a new beginning I grow old and still it's there Crying out bemoaning the fact The sin to You laid bare. What is my lot in life? My desire lukewarm with age Then suddenly a fire burns A heart quiet, fills with rage. Not wanting to feel anymore When the burden comes my way Lord You are my conqueror Walk me through another day. When evil lurks, then attacks I fall down on my knees The sin so heavy, staggers me I groan my broken pleas. What is my lot in life? Crying out, crying out to You Come all who are weary A verse I thought I knew. Oh, I am certainly weary But Your Spirit touches me My lot in life was purchased When You died upon that tree. |
