Consider Your Ways
by Jeff Bidiman

I met a mournful stranger in the night,
And asked to hear the story of his plight.
He looked at me with a woeful stare.
I could see his pain; feel his despair.

"Once I was a man of good fashion."
He said with a voice void of passion.
"I had money to satisfy every need,
But money burns in flames of greed.

Surrounded by the finest things,
Unconcerned with what the future brings,
I catered to the worlds temptation;
Now I am left in resignation."

"Friend," I said, "this is not your fate,
Look inside and contemplate
How you revelled in reaching all your goals,
Then placed your hopes in bags with holes.

You let God's temple go to waste
Searching for these things of taste.
So climb your mountain; find Him there.
Do what you need to begin the repair.

While you strive to regain Gods grace;
Enter the temple and feel His embrace.
Then always remember, whatever you do,
That you are in Christ; Christ is in God; and God is with you."
