Imperfect Me by Catherine Deaton Wonder why God doesn't tire of me Repeatedly stumbling, working to be free Of the chains that bind my problems to me I walk, then falter, and fall to my knees. I'm humbled, frustrated can't understand why Trodding this life is difficult to try God in His patience always stands by Lifting me up when I fall and I cry. Then I get just a glimpse, at taste, if you will Of how God still loves me, the feeling's a thrill I gaze at my child so needy and young She falters, then tumbles and I'm on the run To hold and to comfort, my work's never done For she's right off again, searching for fun. Inevitable stumbling, that's what life's about Thank you, Father, for never giving out Or leaving the side of imperfect me Thank you for loving so unconditionally. |
