The One Within by Kari Vermette The one within her felt safe and secure, Her every part was beginning to mature. She could hear her mother's heart beat, She knew when she lied down and when on her feet. She even knew the sound of her mother's voice. She was glad her mom made the choice- The choice to give life to her for she was so unsure. A baby to take care of when she was so young- She was just starting to have all of the fun. She could've fixed it-her fears would be gone. It wouldn't even take very long. No one would have to know, for she wouldn't even show. But.....The Voice inside of her said, "No." She had to go through with it, She refused to take the easy way out. Her mind was made up, without a doubt. The months went by and those long last days. And when her little girl came, this is what she had to say...... I see a part of me in you, You have me eyes and my smile, too. The joy I feel I can not explain, I feel no regret, I feel no shame. I'm so glad we made it through, It was worth it all, for I love you! |
