I Once Was Blind
by Albert Watson

Well my friends, what do you know?
I was sitting there, in Jericho.
The Son of David, he passed by,
With vocal cords, I then let fly.

'Shut up, shut up, be quiet!' They said,
'Your loud enough to wake the dead.'
To you my friends, I make this plea,
Wouldn't you shout, if you could not see?

I might have been blind, but my hearing was good.
They told me He'd healed, by making some mud.
But I didn't care where he spat.
If I could see, I would have some of that.

'Cheer up, on your feet.' They said,
I quickly to the Lord was led.
He asked, 'What can I do for you?'
I told him, but I am sure He knew.

No spit! No mud! You ask me why,
Did he discern faith, within my cry?
So, if you are sick, do not despair,
In Jesus name, find healing there!
