The Hurricanes Are Again Approaching

Millions heard and were told of the approach of another new hurricane;
We were warned that there would be high winds and a mighty heavy rain.
As the pending hurricane drew nearer people heeded the advice they had heard;
They started putting up hurricane shutters as the hurricane was heading westward.

Many rushed to buy food, water and supply the basic essentials they would need;
Not ever thinking that what they were buying might be considered as something of greed.
Meteorologists had been tracking this storm for many, many a day;
Wanting to make sure that the hurricane's path was actually coming our way.

No time left for pondering, the hurricane is now bashing at our door;
As you hear the mighty winds blowing it nearly brings you to the floor.
You hear the thrashing; thumping and banging you think it will never stop;
The pounding is so loud at your door; your heart feels like it will drop.

This hurricane sounds like an endless procession of stones falling from the sky;
Added to this ear piercing noise are the howling winds that won't stop or even sigh.
Pondering all that is going on about you, you ask is the Lord talking to us?
Should we open our ears and listen to Him in order to stop this great fuss?

God warned the hard hearted people who lived during Noah's time;
As He was greatly disappointed as their sins were not sublime.
We just have to open our eyes to see how sin has abounded;
God must be very upset, as His Word has not been grounded.

We have read about the hearts of those stubborn people
and how they had been warned;
Noah told them to change their hearts to put God first,
or else they would have to mourn.
If you make a quick comparison -- have we too become just like them?
Have we closed our hearts and eyes as if they were covered with phlegm?

God tells us to humble ourselves and He will heal our land;
Don't you think we owe this to Him; He is ready to hold our hand.
Let's grab hold of this opportunity to put us in the will of our Lord;
God is more than worthy of our praises and greatly to be adored.

Have you ever experienced the aftermath of such a tumultuous hurricane?
You are able to stand and realize that your senses have truly been drained.
The emphasis that should always be realized is that we need God by our side.
How thankful we should be always that God is omnipresent and doesn't try to hide.
