Comfort
by Terry Rutledge

Dear Jesus:

Now days when I think of you,
I think of all I've missed.
Things in this world I thought were true,
to them I raise my fist.

Those times and places I went wrong,
I regret them to this day.
I dwelt on them all day long,
'til I was shown the way.

I still sit back and think of them,
but this time not so much.
Now i know my faith's a gem,
with you I feel in touch.

You helped me to discover life,
in a different way.
Now I don't look at strife,
not like yesterday.

Every problem, every one,
is as tiny as a flea.
Just knowing you're God's son,
seems to comfort me.

Your faithful servant

Terry Rutledge
