New Song at Sunset by Karen Whitaker © 2009 Yesterday was the Lord's day. What an extra joyful day was that Lord's day. As the revival preacher made his plea, conviction fell so heavily. The melodious strands of hymn did play, I paused in prayer and looked her way. She returned my look with angelic smile, and linking arms we walked the aisle. Mother, dear Mother, in her sunset years, came to the cross of Jesus through tears. Yes, yesterday was the Lord's day, and so joyfully, He had His way. Jesus is ready to give a new song, but don't wait so long. |
