Pardon Me God
by patricia guinn

Will You let me swim with the dolphins God?
May I paint a sunset for You
Or perhaps I could dress that meadow up
With a perfect flower or two

You have promised me a perfect world
No more sorrow, pain or tears
The only thing I wonder about
Is what I'll do with all those years

I know that to worship You
Will be my daily goal
To praise Your name so sweet and pure
Shall lift this grateful soul

I'm trying to be patient God
For my future lies with You
But if it isn't too presumptuous Sir
May I ask a question or two

Will You let me swim with the dolphins God?
Can I paint a sunset for You
Or perhaps I can dress that meadow up
With a perfect flower or two
