Christ Is Our Victory!
by Karen Eric Ponraj © 2009

He mocks a virgin, rather than prize her, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
marriage, for promiscuity unto bondage!

He beds a bottle of alcohol and succumbs to its lies, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
sobriety, for instant, resounding, misery!

He drinks in smoke, puffing soot through his nostrils, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
breath, for choking his life to death!

He draws close to drugs and blows his mind to pieces, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
intelligence, for a great deception, killing his God-given conscience!

He runs addicted to gambling, chasing blind hope, day after day, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
working, for greed to increase his money making!

He appeases his appetite daily, with excessive cravings of food, why?
Man has exchanged the highest honor;
living, for the sake of gluttonous binging!

Man runs daily after sensual pleasures;
But never seems satisfied with all the world's treasures;
The lust of the eye, flesh and the pride of life, his constant companions;
Alas! Suddenly his habits are bound by Satan's evil minions!

If only man will see; God's WORD cannot be mocked!
For there is no other deliverer, than, Christ the eternal rock;
Jesus stands with TRUTH and POWER to deliver us today;
Repent to break that habit from you, forever away!

For Christ alone is our victory!
In Him we walk in constant dignity;
He broke the chains of sin and shame;
In purity we can live in Him to reign!
