The Sting of Death!
by Karen Eric Ponraj © 2009

It is appointed for man to die but once;
and after that the judgment is pronounced!
Can man escape that appointed day?
Didn't God make him from perishable clay?

All men must face the curse of death;
For God alone gave man, His breath!
Can man escape that fateful day?
Didn't God make him from worthless clay?

When all man's works come to an end;
What can he take from this world to descend?
Can man escape that solemn day?
Didn't God make him from worldly clay?

Naked he came and naked he shall go;
Will anyone that loves him follow him below?
Can man escape that sudden day?
Didn't God make him from feeble clay?

Can any man strive to come back to earth?
No, for after death, there can be no rebirth!
Can man escape that fearful day?
Didn't God make him from simple clay?

If man mocks God during his life on earth;
No repentance of sin can from the grave be heard!
For once death stings as a thief in the night;
All chance is lost to make man's soul live right!

Then the fires of hell will consume man's soul;
Eternally lost will man live in sheol.
He'll realize his life was lost in sin;
that all through his life, he was chasing the wind!

Oh man of CLAY, realize today;
Your life on this earth will end someday!
Decide to give your life to CHRIST;
Your soul was redeemed for a heavy price!

The sting of death was destroyed of its power;
By Christ our Lord who was raised at God's hour.
No death for a Christian but a change in address;
As when his eyes open, he'll gain heavenly access!
