Graduation

I'm so very proud
Of you little sis'
And your graduation
I wouldn't have missed!

As you passed before me
To receive your honors.
I have never been
A more proud mother.

I choked back the tears
Welling up inside
As you walked before me,
I was full of pride.

You've grown and learned
So many new things.
Through Spoon River College,
Now sprout your wings.

May your wings carry you
Through dreams and ambitions,
To the highest star,
As you make your decisions.

You can achieve all that
Your heart requires
If you keep your mind on
God and his desires.

Wisdom and honor will
Take you by the hand,
But perseverance
Is what'll make you stand

To achieve your goals
And your ambitions
So just follow your heart
And your intuitions.

I wish you all the very best
And pray to God that you'll be blest!
