Unloved

A tender soul unwanted
Unloved throughout the years
No soothing words of comfort
To wipe away the tears

No bedtime stories ever told
No tender kiss goodnight
Words of courage left unsaid
To chase away his fright

Chided for his every fault
Never hearing words of praise
Knocked around by thoughtless words
Confused by life's unjust maze

Eventually life wore him down
In defeat he gazed at the sky
Closing his eyes to hide the tears
He gave in to his hearts anguished cries

Then he felt the warmth of a gentle hand
And opened his eyes to see
No one was standing beside him
He thought it was only a breeze

Tho he saw no one beside him
The warmth continued to grow
It spread throughout his body
And crept into his soul

His heart opened up in wonder
Sweet words rang through his mind
"Trust in Me, My precious son
And all you seek you will find

For I am your Heavenly Father
And My love knows no end
Let go of all your earthly pain
My Grace to you I send

I gave My Son as a sacrifice
He accepted your sorrow and fears
He laid on the cross with a heart full of love
He died to erase your tears

Now let your heart be healed My child
And remember you're never alone
Then when your time on earth is through
My angels will guide you home"
