Lip Service but not Heart Service
by Danette Kettwich

I come into the Garden to listen and pray
A walk with the Lord in the cool of the day.

The Spirit revealing this image to me
How my worship and praise ought to be.

I pray but my heart doesn't comply
I sing but my Spirit doesn't reply.

I fall to the floor tears onto my hand
Valleys of shadows, I don't understand.

Why am I in this place once again?
I want You Lord, I don't want to pretend.

Why do I let my life get so out of hand?
Bring water again to this desert land.

I see how glorious one day it will be
All in one voice beside the crystal sea.

Beholding my father kneeling at His throne.
Tears no longer falling in my eternal home.

Worshiping not in vain; worship so pure
This is my heavenly destiny for sure!

Matthew 15:7-9
7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: 8 ' These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And[a]honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. 9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
(New King James Version)
