Ephrathah.
by Albert Watson

O little town in Ephrathah,
Just as the prophet said.
A child of ancient time is born,
In you, the house of bread.
And on that day as lain in hay,
The host of heaven was stirred.
In fear and awe; shepherds saw
And from Gods angel heard.
To all, good news including Jews,
For in the house of bread,
A saviour Christ the Lord is born.
Go seek and find he said.
Now a sign, look for the divine
Not in a palace bed.
But a manger swaddling bound,
No crown upon his head.
Angels gone, shepherds as one,
To the house of bread repair.
Oh what joy they found the boy,
With parents their story share.
Some did weep as back to sheep,
They spoke to near and far.
Hearts swelling, as stories telling,
Of events in Ephrathah.
