Jesus doesn't love me any more
by Gabriel Fearing

How can he really love me any more?
I am wretched, damaged, and utterly worn
Dejection displaces and replaces dreams
Misery and shame worsening bursting seams
Despicable, contemptible, abominable, vile
Been a saboteur of saints for quite a while
How much more can my heart endure?
I'm certain he can't love me any more
I do things I'm not supposed to do
I don't do things I'm supposed to do
Longing for acquittal of my selfish past
Been adrift far too long with no avast
My life is his: a small, meager offering
Take from me this factory of suffering
Jesus doesn't love me any more
Or any less than the day before
