By the Look in my Eyes by Pearl Sturgis Since I lost my best friend I have tried to pretend But I've never been good with the lies. I don't say I miss you But they all know it's true. They can tell by the look in my eyes. In the midst of the crowd I won't say it out loud Though I'm certain they all recognize. It's the time of the year when your memory's so clear... and it shows by the look in my eyes. Since The Lord called you home I have walked on alone. How I cherish our final goodbyes. I will spread Christmas cheer by the memories so dear, Still they know by the look in my eyes. |
