Busy-ness
by Claire Groenestein

I'll sit and rest with You a while,

I said to the Lord one day.

I'll lay all my work to one side,

And listen to what You say.

Ohhh there's the phone, excuse me Lord,

I won't be a moment or two.

And so the Lord sat graciously,

And waited till I was through.

I'm sorry to keep You waiting Lord,

Now where did we get up to?

Ohh now the wash is finished Lord,

I'll have to get back to You.

And as I toiled and worked away,

One thing came to mind.

Jesus sat so patiently,

Until I could find the time.

Inside I felt so burdened,

My busy-ness self put.

And when I turned with heavy heart,

There my Saviour stood.

I came and sat down at His feet,

Your will and not mine this day.

I'll cease all this endless toil Lord,

I'll listen to what You say.

So when your days get busy,

Your toil hard to bear.

Just remember Jesus is waiting,

Turn and He'll meet you there.
