To the Glory of God by Kathleen Higham Do all to the glory of God For shallowness will abound As waves flow from the deep A vision so moving, profound. Hold the depth of life close Only the Lord should see Sacred thoughts belong to Him Whether shallow or deep, just be. God gives us the shallow things Even the oceans touch the shore But deep, so deep is the Lord And He longs to give us more. Do all to the glory of God On the surface of life we live The defining moment may come With a burning desire to give. A disciple needs his teacher Oh, be careful of haughty pride It can steal your common sense Allowing spiritual contempt to hide. Criticize only your own heart Look deep from the shallow side Understanding what our Savior did Became a simple man, then died. There is no depth in sinful man Into the world, born a fraud Then Jesus Christ redeemed us "Do all to the glory of God." 1st Corinthians 10:31 "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." |
