Moving Day by Bryan Miles A moving van pulled up one day To take the pastor's things away, Many things the pastor loved Were packed and pushed, pulled and shoved; Bibles, journals, devotionals and books In all the cranny's, and all the crooks; Everything the pastor had The congregation was very sad, Pastor Peterson had passed away! A very moving, moving day! But, Pastor's life was not a loss He always followed the way of the cross; He taught the congregation to give The only way, a man must live; They clothed the needy, and fed the poor Their church was always an open door; An open door, for any need A very giving church, indeed! So, they were not surprised at all Their pastor's heart, was never small; And so he willed, the day he died That a moving van, should pull outside Take all he had, and give it away! A very moving, moving day! The congregation stood in awe They lived their lives, and the pastor saw; The pastor saw their hearts take heed They gave away, when they saw a need; And so, the pastor died in peace Rewarded in heaven, to say the least! For everything, we store away We can't take with us, on Judgment Day! The greatest thing, we leave behind Is a hidden treasure, of another kind; The hidden treasure, in our heart That tells the world, we did our part! We did our part, all part of God's plan So, let them pack the moving van! A true disciple, moves out of the way! A very moving, moving day... |
