-The Pie Maker- (Lies) by Bryan Miles The Lord of lies, baked some pies And passed them out to eat, From filling to crust They were sprinkled with lust Tempting, and very sweet; He passed them around, all over town To all who would partake, If one didn't like pies To everyone's surprise He would bake a chocolate cake; He became quite a baker The crafty pie maker His hands, always in the batter He completely succeeded Giving all that one needed His recipe, "LIES" on a platter! Many were naive, and started to believe What ever was on their plate, It all looked so good Just like any lie should If you want them to fall for the bait; They gobbled and crammed As the filling they jammed Hastily down their throat, The pie maker laughed He was good at his craft So deceitful, the words that he wrote! In this tasty town of lies Only One heard their cries They called Him, the Lord of Truth; Everything that He said Came from fresh daily bread That satisfied, every tooth; Jesus, God's Son Made the pie maker run Hurriedly down the street, Taking with him, his pies And his freshly baked lies To his oven, scorching with heat! No, it doesn't take long If you fall for the song That the pie maker sings in the square, When one sees that the taste Goes to more than the waist It's never too late to, BEWARE! Whatever the lie, that is baked in a pie The taste isn't worth, where it leads Satan powders the dough With white flour of snow, But, it's not just the dough That he kneads! So, remember my friend Only truth holds the blend For the recipe of life, All the pie maker's pies Are just coated in lies Cutting into the soul, like a knife! Coated in lies, and covered with flies Be careful, to eat what you should Truth is at your fingertips Taste His word, and smack your lips; Taste and see, that the Lord is good... |
