Hitting Rock Bottom by Danette Kettwich I never thought that I would ever hit The valley of this hard rock floor Or into this canyon I would submit I feel like I've washed up on the shore Afraid of what else I may have to lose I feel as if I have almost lost it all This complex way; I have to choose The path bordered by a towering wall Life full of all these uncertainties Observing the last hint of hope I no longer know where I should be And I'm not sure how I can cope. Emotionally this life seems shattered This path, not where I thought I'd be Even though right now I'm tattered I know your hand is still guiding me. When I look back upon this life What still sustains in time of need, Will be the choice to follow Christ; Giving hope and love that will lead The Lord my help, my assurance Even when I feel I'm at my worst Lord, I need faithful endurance I need water to quench this thirst. I had a false sense of protection Praying for Your unbroken hedge I would never fully value salvation Without this trial; without the ledge. |
