The Narrow Way

Slender is the entrance,
firm and solid is the way
sturdy must be my steps
if on the path, I want to stay.

For slim are my chances,
that I will not sin today
I know I am an easy target
for Satan to lure and sway.

I know I must be equipped,
each day my journey starts
to fight off Satan's arrows
and all his fiery darts.

For fine is the line,
for which I should try to aim
and broad is the lure
that Satan uses in his game.

I know I will never win,
unless to the Lord I always pray
for deliverance from temptation
and a heart that will never stray.

For strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way
I must walk it cautiously
lest I slip and fall away!
