Every Swaying Palm
by louis gander

There's a dim red sky this morning -
will we heed the warning
while breezes start to blow?
Or do our big decisions
with various delusions
deceive us where we go?

The palm will never warn us -
as it can only focus
on current truths instead.
Just watch the dancing leaves
and see what man believes
despite what lies ahead.

For soon all truth surpasses
the numbers of the masses
when soon the storm will come.
God will hit with greater wrath
pelting every evil path
until we do succumb.

Is there somewhere man can go
except with every common flow -
while it's serene and calm?
Or is there nothing man can miss
as ignorance seems ever bliss -
with every swaying palm?
