In The Early Morning Hour
by Kathleen Higham

In the early morning hour
His music begins to play
Distant thunder rumbles in
Brings thoughts of Him my way.

In the early morning hour
Alone with God, I pray
Thanking Him for my life
As I awake for another day.

In the early morning hour
The dark of night shall fade
Rain drops tap upon the roof
Jewels from Heaven, He has made.

In the early morning hour
I proclaimed my need
The request I've asked before
Many years I cried this plead.

In the early morning hour
No answer comes, but still
I absolutely trust in Him
If it would be in His will.

In the early morning hour
Peace fills me once again
His grace is sufficient
I sing praise to Him, Amen!

In the early morning hour
My heart no longer dismayed
His arms comforted me
When for another, I prayed.

In the early morning hour
His fingers stir the air with power
He orchestrates a song of hope
In the early morning hour.

Psalm 90:10
"The length of our days is seventy years—
Or eighty, if we have the strength;
Yet their span is but trouble and sorrow,
For they quickly pass, and we fly away."
