For the Love of Jeffery Rentz

I did absolutely nothing
For this sweet and tender love
I did absolutely nothing, yet
This gift from God above.

Our Lord is so merciful
His gifts are endless now
But I did absolutely nothing
And God sent him anyhow.

For the love of Jeffery Rentz
A seventeen year old boy
He comes to me so tenderly
Then fills my heart with joy.

Oh, I pray to meet him
And if it is in God's Will
I will take him to the ocean
Where the water is blue and still.

Wanting to give him something
For all that he has done
To be chosen, I was chosen
He asked to be my son.

I would listen to his heart
A heart that beats so true
Feel it beat, sync with mine
That is what I would do.

A most incredible lesson here
From a boy without pretense
I did absolutely nothing, nothing
For the love of Jeffery Rentz.
