Closer to Him

I gave it up once upon a time,
A life that was worthless,
A life that was mine.

A revelation that resulted
In the surrendering of my life,
In the conforming of a precious being.

We exchanged lives,
My sacrificed death,
His resurrected life.

I strive to be like his perfect image.

Jesus made the link,
The possibility for our reunion,
The introduction to His Father.

We will take on the world
Until in Heaven we meet;
For we three combined equal one team.

Proving our love the best I can,
Even beyond our last hour,
We will be together forever.

Closer to Him through my Lord;
Closer to me through His Son.
