From Now On by Kathleen Higham Only God knows who I am I have seen who I am not Attacked from the unexpected A hard, painful lesson taught. Living foolishly unprotected Not realizing who to be Captured by the besetting sin Yes, the sin that lives in me. I promised God sincerely In that moment I pray From now on God, no more If You would take the sin away. Do you ever wonder why? One violates the soul of another? It is because of besetting sin That we would offend a brother. This is a calculating war! To draw attention away But from now on, Lord Help us stop the words we say. There is a private agenda When the least become the most The quiet one who never harms Draws the proudest to boast. From now on, from now on Looking deep, deep within I will never accuse another, but Pray for my own besetting sin. Another day He rises the sun In the early morning dawn Unto Jesus, where love began I shall give it, from now on. Hebrews 12:1-2 "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus…" |
