-sIn- In the Middle of it All by Bryan Miles In the middle of it all Is a great big I Package after package Piled high What do I want? What do I need? Motivated by flesh Fulfilled by greed How does it look? How does it taste? Human consumption Human waste From the bite of an apple To the whole darn tree Grabbing all That satisfies me In the Kingdom of I I sit on the throne The crown that I wear Is all mine alone Whatever's set before me I gulp and I sip Chewing each morsel That slides past my lip I soak both my feet In the waters that flow Aiming to please The only one I know In the middle of sIn Is the letter I Whom man tries to follow Though it's unclear why? Why does he follow with all of his breath? The results of his venture Resulting in death Yes, I has its place In the middle of sIn Planting six feet under Those who begin To follow its path Without any thought Wrapped in its branches Tangled and caught There is only one way To push out the I That keeps you from God And your home in the sky Remove all the rags Of the sIn that you wore Get rid of the I Right down to the core Replace it with O And follow God's sOn In the light of His word All sIn has to run... |
