You Can Come Home by Donna Hendrix Loneliness overwhelmed me Mercy became my plea Drifting endlessly about Filled with much fear and doubt Too scared to go home I continued far to roam Forgiveness is not mine Peace I will not find I've traveled too many dark roads Looking for my special abode Father will not take me back Sins against me; they do stack In my hour of desperation I heard a voice of consternation Child you must go home today before you forever lose your way I fell to my knees in heartfelt prayer Letting go of worry and despair Father held wide His open arms Come to me; where you're free from harm You're always welcome to come home Never more, do you need to roam I am always willing to forgive No matter the life that you have lived |
