Why Me?

Of all the people in the world that are greater and smarter than I.
Why did God choose me as one of His, I feel a need to cry.
Am I worthy of God's blessings, His grace or even His love?
I try to comprehend as I know my God is so highly above.

Why me Lord? Am I worthy of being called your child?
My life has been off key and even sometimes wild.
Despite this atrocious behavior and this stance of defense.
You loved me unconditionally and this was no pretense.

I am asking, "Why me?" many others have asked the same.
But their questioning was seeking to shift and even place some blame.
We know that very often tough times will come our way.
The question arises "Why me?" as this is something to say.

People state they want a reason -- thinking God owes them a response.
Forgetting about their blessings and expounding with their wants.
It is so very easy to forget and not show God our gratitude.
But we should always be gracious exhibiting our loving attitude.
