Church Hurt
by Rae

Let’s rejoice that this walk,
Is not based on a selected few.

All those times you wanted to give up,
And say I’m finished, I’m through.

When those you love deceive you,
And your loved ones are up and gone.

You can unceasingly count on Jesus,
He will never steer you wrong.

We are presumed to be united,
And still I do not sense the bond.

The schemes, the lies, the hurt,
I can not help, but to feel robbed.

Not by my Father, just by some of the saints.
But when my heart is hurting,
A elegant portrait I still will paint.

I’ve learned to love when it hurts,
And take my portion well.

Giving thanks through these trials,
Will help me past this spell.
