GOLIATH
by Stephanie Stone

I was awakened by Goliath, standing in my way,

his size and his shadow, caused me to pray.

I was frozen, lifeless, cold and still,

darkness mocking me, until:

I cried out, "Help me, JESUS, there's a giant I can't face."

He was here already, saying, "Steph, I'm here in your place."

The giant was bold, but his strength began to wane,

when JESUS opened the curtain to reveal EVERY stain...

EVERY sin was made white, no accusation could stand,

in the face of HIS BLOOD, HIS GIFT TO MAN!

"Who dares to defy the Living God or tries to deceive His own?

Come state your case and show me which sin My blood did not atone."

The giant had his finger, pointed to my past,

he thought he had won, finally at last.

Yet the mouth of the LAMB opened up wide,

TRUTH poured forth as He stood at my side.

"There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION

for those who are found in Me.

I've taken her sins, I've paid with my life,

they are thrown in the depths of the sea.

You have some truth, she sinned, I KNOW,

but the rest of the truth you must not forego:

SHE'S HIDDEN IN A BLOOD COVENANT WITH ME,

HER BATTLES I FIGHT, I AM HER VICTORY!

You may tempt her and try her, she is weak for sure.

Her weakness is my moment, her heart to make pure.

When I hear her call, for the call will sure come,

I'll banish you to hell, for I said, "IT IS DONE!"
