Adopted by Jennifer Godkin I was adopted when I was a baby When I was just a few days old I was special to my mom and dad Cause I was chosen, so I'm told I wasn't a surprise to them They wanted me, and took me in To love me as their own flesh and blood To accept me as their kin A legal contract that was binding Was written, sealed, and approved That said that I was their child And I could never be removed When I think about my adoption I liken it to God's love for me He knew me in my mother's womb And He predestined me, you see When I was a baby, I was an orphan And the Bible is very clear Jesus is the Father to the fatherless And I know He held me near Then He placed me in an earthly home A family He had chosen for me Knowing someday I'd chose Him too As He had chosen me to be To be His child, through salvation Forgiven, sealed, and approved Accepted into His family And I can never be removed. I find it such an awesome thing, Just say it, and think of His great love God Almighty chose us to live with Him In heaven up above... So next time when you say it That you're God's child, a part of God's family Remember, that adoption is a really awesome thing Because it's God Almighty, the Creator That did the choosing, He's chosen you and me! |
