A LESSON TO LEARN, CHRISTMAS 2007 by Stan Arney © 2007 At this time of year, we look inwardly for some guidance We ask God to reveal to us the true essence One aspect the birth of Christ, was to give to each A pure and simple lesson to learn and to teach We are to love each other, in fact to love everyone In the Bible it's written, by God's Word it should be done To treat each encounter, as though it was Jesus himself Which can be a scary thought, if I do say so myself We are to embrace our enemies and to judge no one To guide all lost sheep to God's one and only Son To have compassion with all who may need our aid Seek no Earthly reward, but in Heaven we'll be repaid Be a "Good Samaritan", and a light for all to see For you were chosen by Jesus, before the world to be Let your actions speak louder, than the words you say Bless all those who curse you, and for their souls pray Touch lives in a positive way, and you shall succeed God will place in your heart, how you may fill each need Jesus was sent to our world not to be served, but to serve As His light unto this world, this example we must preserve So as your thoughts this Christmas season begin to churn I pray I have presented you with a true lesson to learn The model for secretly giving was written long ago Twas written in the Bible, I thought you should know. |
