A Godly Heart by Kathleen Higham He had such a Godly heart There was nothing he wouldn't do His joy now absolutely endless An he desires the same for you. Pain can claim you every day Sometimes your heart can't bear No peace can reach this brokenness Your mind screams, how unfair. He had such a Godly heart His life was all about giving Now his reward from the Savior The gift for the life he was living. We can never comprehend When sorrow releases a sigh Then agonized we punish ourselves Till we cannot even cry, but He had such a Godly heart I know someday you will see A shattered heart will surrender And God's love will set you free. The moment you are waiting for Carries you through another day A memory of a lovely boy And a smile will come your way. He had such a Godly heart Only time will bring relief A guilt may come to smother, but The Lord will burden your grief. Your cross will surely be lifted Remembering the son you bore Oh, he had such a Godly heart He prays you mourn no more. |
