Lost Joy of Christmas by Susie Laster © 1994 Where is the joy of Christmas, that we knew so long ago? The joy of Santa landing on the roof, of cookies, milk and snow. The joy of receiving a couple of presents; of baby dolls, trucks or cars, The family gatherings have lessened and aren't nearly quite as large. The joy of imagining that children hear the jingle of sleigh bells ring, The joy of carolers moving from house to house as they sing. The joy of children being with both their Mom "and" Dad, The joy of children being happy, not alone and feeling sad. It seems we have lost the true meaning of "Joy on Christmas Day," And the blessings of love are slowly, slowly passing away. But most important we need to feel the joy of how this day begun; When God gave us the most "precious" gift of all....His only begotten Son. |
